About High & Low

Guess whether the next card will rank higher or lower than the card shown. Choose HIGH or LOW; correct guesses increase your score and streak. Rounds are quick, and keeping track of card ranks and cards already played adds another layer of strategy.

How to play

  1. Check the current card on the screen.
  2. Choose HIGH if you think the next card will be higher, or LOW if you think it will be lower.
  3. Check the result. If correct, select “Next round.”
  4. After game over, select “Play again” to start with a new deck.

Card ranks and outcomes

A is 1, cards 2–10 use their face values, J is 11, Q is 12, and K is 13. A is the lowest card and K is the highest.

A card with the same rank is a draw. Your streak is preserved on a draw; a wrong guess ends the game.

Thinking about your guess

A low current card may make HIGH an easier choice, while a high card may favor LOW. Middle ranks can go either way and are harder to judge.

The 52-card deck is shuffled once, and each card is removed after use. Rounds are therefore not independent under identical conditions; the remaining cards change the odds, so no fixed win probability applies.

More than luck

Use the played-card history at the bottom to consider cards already seen and those remaining. Each correct guess adds 100 points and increases your streak.

The history cannot reveal the next card with certainty. Results still depend on the shuffled deck and chance.

How the advanced version differs

The standard version is a simple game where you compare the current and next cards. For more card details, a remaining-card tracker, and analysis features, try theAdvanced High & Low.

Frequently asked questions

Is A the highest card?

No. A counts as 1 here, so it is the lowest card; K counts as 13 and is the highest.

What happens if the cards have the same rank?

It is a draw. Your score and streak stay the same, and you can continue to the next round.

Are the odds the same on every draw?

The 52-card deck is shuffled, and used cards are not returned. The remaining cards change the odds; the game does not use a fixed win rate.

Can I play on a smartphone?

You can play in a supported mobile browser. Cards and controls adjust to the screen width.

How does it differ from the advanced version?

The standard version focuses on comparing cards and viewing the played-card history. The advanced version also shows card usage and other details.
